About us

In September 2013 Taher & McCallum Opticians took over from the longstanding Black & Lizars Greenock practice. Since then the price of virtually every spectacle lens and frame has been reduced - some varifocal lenses ended up over £100 less than before!

Newly added frame ranges include Ray Ban, Jimmy Choo and Silhouette rimless. We have also introduced a new screening instrument which uses world-leading OCT (optical coherence tomography) technology. The results are quite incredible and have to be seen to be believed. Click on OCT in the menu on the left for more information.

We have a great team of experienced staff where you can be assured to receive professional, friendly and honest advice from all. Everyone is welcome, eye examinations are available for anyone from approximately 6 months of age onwards, and most people are eligible for a free NHS eye-examination.
